History of Video Games

May 8, 2007 by Peter Childs

An interesting overview of the evolution of video games - especially how the development focus shifted to different countries as the underlying plaftorms change.

Also of interest to those of us with an interest in social media is the way subtle changes in game technology get used to motivate and reward players. As with so much technology its limitations don’t stop adoption as long as those limits don’t undermine the social motivations that underly use.

A fun watch - as much for the old games and business stories as for the social and play strategies.
